Mi paso por el Newlands

 In Literature classes, in goups of 5, we have been analysing different poems. My group (Valentina Gavilán, Sol Valle, Renata Lentini y Abril Savoia) worked with the poem I Hear An Army, by James Joyce and made a google presentation.  Firstly, we searched information about the author that may help us understand the poem better. Secondly, we made a summary of the poem. After that, we analysed the structure of the poem (how many stanzas does it have? How many lines does it have? Does it follow a rhyming scheme?). Then, we did a detailed analysis stanza by stanza, using the language and litterary devices to give meaning to the poem. Finaly, we analysed the themes of the poem (fear and desesperation, nightmares and dreams and loss of a beloved one) that are mainly connected with the speaker´s feelings about the past.  In this activity we did some posts on Instagram describing act 2 scene 4 of the play twelfth night written by William Shakespeare. We included how the characters acted, their clothes, their performances, the main events on the scene and the main theme of the scene.  This is our work:

                          Chaque année au lycée de Newlands, nous célébrons le French Day, et chaque année fait des choses différentes pour montrer le reste du lycée. Chaque année, il y a un thème différent, sur lequel des vidéos ou des dessins sont préparés (par exemple). Cette année le thème était les événements en France, donc chaque cours a choisi un événement.                            Ainsi, nous nous sommes divisés en groupes et avons commencé à chercher des informations. Avec mon groupe, nous avons trouvé "La première Fête du livre", qui est un festival du livre organisé à Redú.
