I Hear An Army...
In Literature classes, in goups of 5, we have been analysing different poems. My group (Valentina Gavilán, Sol Valle, Renata Lentini y Abril Savoia) worked with the poem I Hear An Army, by James Joyce and made a google presentation. Firstly, we searched information about the author that may help us understand the poem better. Secondly, we made a summary of the poem. After that, we analysed the structure of the poem (how many stanzas does it have? How many lines does it have? Does it follow a rhyming scheme?). Then, we did a detailed analysis stanza by stanza, using the language and litterary devices to give meaning to the poem. Finaly, we analysed the themes of the poem (fear and desesperation, nightmares and dreams and loss of a beloved one) that are mainly connected with the speaker´s feelings about the past.
